Week of August 5, 2012—Odds and Ends
Quotes
of the Week:
You
have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too
difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.
—Madeleine L’Engle
A
writer is someone who has taught his mind to misbehave.
—Oscar Wilde
Writers
write while dreamers procrastinate.
—Besa Kosova
As
this week begins, I’m in LA at the 41st Annual SCBWI Summer
Conference. I’ve seen tons of writing friends, attended outstanding sessions,
enjoyed the book store, viewed illustrators’ portfolios, and even participated in a
flash mob to surprise and honor Lin Oliver and Steve Mooser.
Since
I’m still learning and processing what I learned (and being inspired beyond
belief), this week’s posts are odds and ends that will hopefully provide some
helpful information and inspiration for you.
Monday—Kari-Lynn
Winter’s Story
Tuesday—Magazine

Wednesday—Leveled

Do It!

of Wisdom from Linda Arms White
