This is the last installment in a five-part series with author, Tammi Sauer, and illustrator, Dan Santat, in celebration of the release of BAWK & ROLL.

Today we’ll discover what we be looking forward to next from Tammi and Dan.

Rob: Tell us about the other projects you’re working on, what’s coming out next, and let us know what else you’re up to.

Tammi: For me, 2012 is the year of the cave boy, chicken, chipmunk, princess, and the state of Oklahoma.

My spring calendar is filled a wild assortment of events including book signings, OLA, SCBWI Conferences (in April, SCBWI Western Washington—I will finally meet my Mostly Monsterly partner in crime Scott Magoon there; in June, SCBWI Florida—oh, how I love me some Floridians!), and lots of school visits. My kids are still astounded that people are actually interested in what I have to say. Sometimes I take pictures just to show them photographic evidence.

Dan: I’ve illustrated a ton between this year and next. This year I’ve got a sequel to Oh No! with Mac Barnett called, “Oh No! Not Again!” a picture book with KL Going called Dog in Charge a sequel to The Adventures of Nanny Piggins called Nanny Piggins and the Wicked Plan with RA Spratt, a great picture book called The Three Ninja Pigs with Corey Rosen Schwartz, Kel Gilligan’s Daredevil Stunt Show with Michael Buckley, Fire! Fuego! Brave Bomberos with Susan Middleton Elya, and I’m illustrating the latest “Guy’s Read” installment edited by Jon Scieszka. Next year, I’ve got four other books coming. I’m currently working on my next picture book and my next graphic novel (which I am contractually hush about) and they should both appear in 2014-ish?

And I have a new dog. I named him Indiana.
