WEEK OF MAY 1—HE SAID, SHE SAID—DIALOGUE IN PICTURE BOOKS
Quote for the week:
“What is the use of a book,” thought Alice, “without pictures or conversation?”
—Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
Saying the just-right words at the just-right time can mean the difference between love and loneliness, war and peace, and rare and charred steak. Using dialogue correctly in picture books can add life to characters, humor to situations, and emotion to stories. Using dialogue incorrectly, poorly, or without purpose can. . . well, let’s not even go there!
Monday—Dialogue Rules
